Our College Hand Ball team won the Fourth Place (Runner up) in Acharya Nagarjuna University Inter Collegiate Women Hand Ball Tournament organised by VSR College Tenali on 15-09-2014 to 16-09-2014.
 
Our college player swarna Latha played final Match and won the Tropy. She Selected APWomen Carrom Team played at Interstate caroms meet at Gudur in AP.
 
Our college Chess Players played Chess tournament against ANU Pharmacy College, in Fifth Round.
 
During the academic year 2014-2015, women players of St.Ann’s college for women Gorantla participated in several inter collegiate games and sports competitions conducted by Acharya Nagarjuna University and won the runners up in women chess tournament and fourth place in Hand Ball tournament.

All these active participation, winning of matches , obtaining championship shields was possible for our college players only because of continuous encouragement, guidance, timely providence of all necessities and needs, counselling to enhance the enthusiasm of students and financial support of Principal and Correspondent Rev.Dr.Sr.K.Anthonamma Along with these, the efficient coaching and discipline given by Mr.K.V.Prasada Rao, Physical Director attribute to the victories won by our players.

As per the college time table, in the allotted hours of sports and games Tennikoit, Carroms, Chess, Volley Ball, Soft Ball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi were exercised and played by the students and under regular activities of the department students have been given training in various sports and games like shuttle, badminton and Hand Ball.

Special training has been given for the students, who were already selected in intercollegiate events, held at various places. The timings of this programme:

Kho-Kho, Soft Ball, Volleyball, Hand Ball, Kabaddi, Carrom and Chess are the prime concern for the special training programme by the department of physical education.

As a part of regular feature the department also conduct the Independence Day, Republic Day, Christmas celebrations and educational tour. It also organizes annual sports and games meet for the students in the month of November and December to select them for first and second prize awards in various games like Tenni koit, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Hand Ball, Chess, Carrams and other sports events i.e 100mtrs, Shot-put, Discuss Throw.

To encourage the 25 players in Chess, Hand-Ball competitions, I also take this opportunity to bring out the excellence of K. Koteswari, I BCom(G), A. Sujatha, I MPC who had participated in Hand Ball game in All India south Zone inter university women Hand Ball tournament held at Thiruchi University, Chennai state. A. Pravallika, I BCom(Comp), D.Anandha Maheswari, I BCom(Comp), who had participated in All India south zone inter university tournament held at Madras University,Chennai.
